About Our Worship
Worship Times
Saturday, 5:00 pm Sunday, 8:15 & 10:45 am Our Saturday evening worship is an informal service with a simplified liturgy. Sunday worship varies from week to week. We use a variety of worship settings from a praise service with a band to various settings from the Evangelical Worship resource book using piano or organ for accompaniment. Our worship is supported by an adult choir, bell choir and occasional children’s choir, along with special music from various groups and soloists. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered at every service and is available to all who believe Jesus Christ is present in the meal. A staffed nursery is available during Sunday worship.

Who We’ve Been
Resurrection Lutheran Church was chartered as a mission church of the American Lutheran Church in February 1978. The congregation met in the Ankeny Theater and the experience of coming to worship with the smell of popcorn and the stickiness of leftover chewing gum underfoot became a part of the culture of RLC. The congregation met in the Ankeny Theater until a sanctuary and small fellowship area was built in 1979, and subsequently the north and west wings were added. Later, the land to the south of the church was acquired with an eye to future expansion. Most recently an exterior remodeling project was completed.
